The Power of Planned Giving

A planned gift allows you to leave a legacy of your values and vision to the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire and ensures our ability to lift up, encourage, support, and strengthen our churches, their leaders, and all of our faith communities and to help them thrive long into the future.

By including the diocese in your estate plans, you support our mission: to claim the power of God’s love in our life—in our worship, learning, and service—as we share the love and joy of Jesus Christ with others.

Planning in advance to provide for your loved ones and the nonprofit organizations that are important to you ensures that your assets are distributed according to your wishes and values. It is our hope that you will consider including the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire in your plans.

There are a variety of ways to make a planned gift, all of which should be discussed with your attorney or financial advisor. The following are some of the most popular options:

Through your will or trust

A common and simple way of supporting the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire is by making a bequest in your will or trust that names the church among your beneficiaries.

  •  A specific bequest names a particular amount to be left to the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire.

  •  A residual bequest leaves specific amounts to family members, friends, or other charities and then designates that all or part of what remains should go to the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire.

  •  A contingent bequest names the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire to receive part or all of your estate in the event that your designated beneficiaries predecease you.

Through a beneficiary designation

By simply filling out a form from the plan administrator, you can easily designate the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire as a beneficiary of your retirement plan distribution, insurance policy, donor-advised fund, or brokerage account, without having to change your will.

Through a life-income gift

Charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and gifts from your retirement accounts can provide you with an income stream while offering the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire a valuable long-term resource.
